Mr. Slater has been involved in the mining industry for over twenty years. He is also the Chairman of Minera Cobre, a private company holding a significant land position within the Andean porphyry copper belt in Colombia. Previously, Mr. Slater was the Managing Partner of both Ernst & Young's Canadian and Arthur Andersen's Central Asian Mining Practices. Mr. Slater is a Chartered Accountant.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Wong is a Chartered Accountant and was most recently General Manager, Finance at Luna Gold Corporation. Previously, Mr. Wong held various progressively senior management positions at Methanex Corporation and was Vice President, SEC External and Financial Reporting at Bear Stearns.
Vice President Corporate Development
Mr. Balit brings 15 years of capital markets experience, focusing the latter half of his career on Latin America. Mr. Balit is fluent in French and Spanish. He holds a Global Executive MBA and a Masters International Relations from IE Business School in Madrid.
Vice President Exploration
Mr. Thomas is a geologist with over 20 years of experience in the minerals industry, managing and conducting exploration programs from grass roots through to advanced stage exploration and feasibility stage projects.
Since 2005, Mr. Thomas worked as a consultant mineral resource geologist with AMEC in their Vancouver office and since 2012 as an independent mineral resource geologist. Prior to 2005, he worked in southeastern Europe for Dundee Precious Metals, Navan Mining and TVX Gold. Mr. Thomas is a registered professional geologist in British Columbia (P. Geo.) and Qualified Person for multiple commodities and deposit types under CIM and JORC codes. Mr. Thomas holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology from the University of Durham and a M.Sc. in Mineral Exploration from the Royal School of Mines, London.
Mr. Durr is a Mining Engineer with over thirty years of mining experience including seventeen years in senior management. Most recently, he was General Manager of Yamana Gold's Mercedes in Sonora, Mexico. Previously, Mr. Durr worked for Coeur Mining - Mexico and for Goldcorp - Honduras and Guatemala.
Mr. Silva is a Geologist with over twenty years of experience in the Colombian mining indsutry. Previously Mr. Silva was part of the discovery team at the Angostura gold deposit and subsequently served there as Country and Exploration manager. Since Red Eagle Mining's inception, Mr. Silva has served Country Manager in Colombia.
Ms. Wilson has over eight years experience in corporate and commercial law, regulatory compliance and corporate governance. Ms. Wilson is an Australian qualified lawyer and holds both a Bachelor of Laws degree and a Bachelor of Arts (Politics) degree from the University of Wollongong, Australia. She is currently pursuing the ICSA’s Chartered Secretaries designation through the Governance Institute of Australia.
